winter silhouettes
a copse of sailboat masts cut
from the dawning sky
Moonlight
moonlight in her hair-
she walks along the shoreline
and into the night
–
a turtle’s splash –
the moon wavers
on the water
Travel
patiently waiting-
at the terminal rain sheets
down tinted windows
–
autumn evening-
once again
I’m alone
Gold
waiting on the sun-
geese fly before purple clouds
embroidered in gold
–
reflections-
golden koi
slowly pass
Homeless
alone on the street
with scarcely a backwards glance
from the passers by
–
three threadbare coats-
his breath still clouds
the autumn night
Green
the first day of fall-
branches resplendent in green
all too soon barren
–
emerald flashes-
wild parrots nestle
in the trees
Regret
living in this house-
a shrine to your past regrets
and those yet to come
–
low tide-
finding sea glass
and jellyfish
Change
my back turned to you-
pretending to be asleep as
you climb into bed
–
angry clouds-
blue skies
forgotten
Humanity
we’re only human
well, some of us anyway
the rest who can say?
–
under the covers
alone with
my mistakes
